A Father's Plea
Please don't get me wrong, my son,
When I say I don't buy your revolution.
What is it based on?
You wanna fight a corrupt regime
Against a corrupt decision?
So you can increase your odds to
Become one of them?
I'm so sorry, I know you are young
And your heart is kind, but I find
You are out of your fucking mind.
I know, I know you might say
You wanna get in
To make the changes from within.
But hey, who are you kidding?
You and I both know what you are
In it for, and I ain't buying anymore.
And don't listen to others,
When they say "It's brave".
Pushing you from a safe
With nothing but a promise that
Even if you die,
Even if you die,
Their love will reach your grave.
To them, my son, you are nothing
But another stone to step.
Remember August two thousand eighteen?
Nobody hardly talks about them.
So pick between your red and green.
And even if you were right,
A revolution, a new dawn,
A new generation of a blazing light
Can flush a tyrant but in reality,
You are playing the same old song.
Repeating over and over again
expecting a change -
Is the definition of insanity.
It's not nineteen fifty two anymore,
It is two thousand twenty four, son.
Just look away and move on.
Cause the devil and his minions
Weren't sleeping all these years.
With a bucket full of crocodile tears
Form the world they got no fear,
They got strength, they got might,
Trained to fight, they got the
Copyright of the liberation,
And a whole army to spare.
The army was to secure you
From foreign and internal threats,
Now securing own butter and breads.
And you, my son?
With your heart full of hope?
Hope that victory is guaranteed
for the just cause?
And God is for all revolutions?
Why? Why on earth would the Lord
Strike with his lightning rods
For your delusion?
Your God armed you with
The judgement power
Rather you push your brothers
And sisters into the line of fire
And glorify their death
On a Facebook thread
Recruiting more gullible heads.
Stop painting your hand red, my son.
I love you and God loves you too,
But he ain't for those with self-interest.
And please don't get me wrong.
I'm not here to get you down,
And truth be told, it's not your fault
You find yourself in a broken world.
Please forgive me when I say
We were cowards, oblivious,
Forever cursed. You are paying for
What was neglected years
And years and years.
We pet the devil, brought it home,
Fed it strong with from our own.
Bewitched by the Siren's song
We drank together its poison.
Drowned our hearts without regrets
While its claws wrap around our necks.
So now the devil is in no bother,
With each of us - a melanoma cell.
Together, we all feed off each other.
So my son, if truth be told,
And if you want to revolt,
If you truly want to to shine,
Save your soul leave us behind.
And no I didn't digress,
And your God hates the hypocrites,
Hopping for best while loathing sin.
This is how it has never been.
And no I didn't digress,
And your God hates the hypocrites.
So this is your farther's advice -
If you truly want to to shine,
Save your soul leave us behind.
Leave us all, leave our vice.
