Whisper of the sand

Who's to say you are wrong,
And who's to say I am right?
With all the unknowns here,
We're still in the fight.

The light we lost eons ago,
Somewhere amidst the dunes.
History written over it's sands,
Slowly shape-shifting with tunes.

For a brief moment, the truth
Flashed on men it's light,
Exposing the secrets they hides
And letting them choose their sides.

The truth, once handed to men
To become more than they can,
Ceased by the very human nature,
Thrown back to the wolf's den.

So now we fight for the rights
That seem wrong from the other side,
While vultures feast on carcasses
In the dusk of an endless night.

And who's to say I am right?
And who is to say I am immune?
A grain in the sea of sand,
Forever dancing with the tunes.
